I’ve done many different things for charity, but did I ever think boxing would be one of them… absolutely not! When Graham called me and explained the project and the great causes that the money would be going to I jumped at the opportunity. Whilst we were raising money for some amazing charities, the personal effect it had on myself and the group was massive. As retired former professional footballers we all still yearn for that purpose. This event gave me that purpose. After six weeks of being put out of my comfort zone and learning new skills, to be able to get in that ring would be quite daunting for some but I loved every moment of it . The boxing was one thing , the event as a whole was unbelievable. I had family and friends in attendance that had an absolute ball. Credit to Graham and the crew for putting on such a top event I look forward to seeing how far this can go in the future .

After playing you can lose focus and other players can lose their way chasing that buzz you had playing In front of them crowds. I had an incredible time at A Night to Remember. It was a fantastic boxing charity event, brilliantly organised and full of energy from start to finish. Taking part in A Night to Remember with Pro Project Promotions was an unbelievable experience one I’ll never forget. The whole event was top class and so well organised from the start of fight camp to the final bell. The night itself had a great atmosphere, and full of respect between everyone involved. Physically and mentally it pushed me, but I loved every minute and it was definitely one of the best decisions of my life to get involved and one I wouldn’t hesitate to make again. But being a pro for 20 years pushing the boundaries is something I've always done and I wouldn't have changed it for the world. From start to finish, everything was so well put together, the training, the communication, and the overall attention to detail were spot on. I really enjoyed the whole process. The training regime was tough but incredibly rewarding, and it gave me a real appetite to stay involved in the sport. It was also great to see so many ex-professionals from different backgrounds not just football come together for such a great cause. I’m proud that we managed to raise a strong amount for charity, and I’d definitely support and take part in something like this again. It was a top event all round.
